Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress who works in television, film and the theatre. The most famous of her roles is Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on The Showtime show Soul Food. After her marriage she became Nikki Kodjoe. Her talent for acting was evident in her early years. In a Maryland high school contest gave her the top actress prize. After working in theater as well as 'The Washington Ballet Company' she graduated with a degree in acting from 'New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love brought her an award for best-in-class roles. Later came films such as 'Boogie Nights Spark & Blue Streak. She was praised for her performance in Soul Food. She has also starred in TV series like Second Time Around" and Empire. Early in her career, she appeared in a variety of stage productions. Parker is a model with an political interest she is currently married to actor/model Boris Kodjoe. Both have two kids.

Contractor, who was raised by his parents in Nigeria and Mumbai before he turned 7, had traveled across the globe and lived through many cultures as a child. She was a boarding student in London between the ages of seven and nine years old, then her family moved towards Toronto, Canada, where she lived for the bulk of her childhood and young adulthood. In Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and became ballet dancer of classical training. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in the arts) the student studied dance and theatre. At 16, after nearly 10 years of dance Contractor decided to pursue acting seriously. When she graduated from high school she received a full-time scholarship to Toronto's University of Toronto, where she earned a master's degree in the field of theatre, and a double major in psychology and sociology. Following a semester at the University, Contractor went to an open audition for the production Pericles at the prestigious and renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the leading role. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian reviewers praised her performance during 92 performances of Pericles. She was invited to join Stratford's conservatory, a program that allows only four males and eight women can take an intensive 20-week program in classical theatre. The actor's involvement in the upcoming season of plays was confirmed, and she received the role in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
